Description

Plants naturally protect themselves against cold and frost by producing their own antifreeze proteins. The level of production varies depending on the plant’s genetic traits and the environmental conditions in which it grows.

CropAid AntiFrost® contains bacteria of the genus Thiobacillus, which produce rusticyanin, oxaloacetic acid, and pyruvic acid. These components are combined with a special blend of minerals.

After application, the product is absorbed through the stomata of leaves, stems, and roots. It stimulates photosynthesis and biochemical processes within the plant’s natural Krebs cycle, leading to increased production of its own antifreeze proteins and glycoproteins. These substances interact with water in plant cells, reducing or completely preventing ice nucleation and thus protecting cells from damage and rupture.

Once the stress caused by cold and frost subsides, excess antifreeze proteins are converted into sugars, oils, vitamins, and proteins that the plant can further utilize. This process promotes the formation of more buds and leaves, improving both the quality and yield of the crop.

CropAid AntiFrost® contains subspecies of Thiobacillus along with the minerals these bacteria utilize, making it a natural and environmentally friendly product.

The effect of a single application can last up to 14 days, with the highest effectiveness occurring within the first 48 hours after application and directly on the treated surfaces.
