Reduce mercaptans and sulfide odor in the wine.
Active ingredient: copper citrate 2% and bentonite
Mer-Capta is useful to remove off-flavours due to hydrogen
sulfide, a compound that can appear during the alcoholic
fermentation and mercaptans that begin to form as a result of
accumulated H2S in the wine.
The solubility aspects of the active component on the inert
vector support allows for the quantity of copper release to be
minimal when used at the correct dosages. From a sensory
point of view, there is less effect on the wine aromas, in
particular the “metallic” note often found in wines treated with
copper sulfate is rarer.
